Keynote Speaker
Dr. Diane K. Boyd has five decades of expertise on behavior, conservation, and management of wild wolf populations. She began her career in 1977 with Dr. L. David Mech’s Minnesota wolf research, and moved to Montana in 1979 to study gray wolf recovery in the Rocky Mountains (from the first natural colonizer to approximately 3,000 wolves today in the western United States).

Diane's work has focused on wolf ecology, dispersal, habitat use, prey selection, genetic relationships, and social dimensions of wolf-human conflicts. She has collaborated on wolf research in British Columbia, Alberta, Mexican wolves, Italy, and Romania; and has published more than fifty articles in scientific journals, book chapters, and the popular literature. Diane recently retired from field work, but is continuing her wolf conservation efforts through teaching and writing. Her debut memoir, A Woman Among Wolves: My Forty Year Journey Through Wolf Recovery was released in September 2024.

Online Auction

We know that our community extends far wider than western Washington and not all of you are able to join us in-person for this exciting evening. Don't worry! This year, we have curated a selection of amazing online auction items that you can bid on from March 6 - March 15 from your own corner of the world. All auction proceeds, no matter where you are joining us from, will go to the wolves and help to conserve and protect them for years to come.
